US Navy Awards Geotest Pulse Generators Contract
Irvine, CA (September 6, 2002) - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for aerospace, semiconductors, telecom, medical, industrial and military applications, today announced it has been awarded a US Navy contract to provide new pulse generators as a replacement for obsolete Wavetek models.
Geotest's pulse generator model GP1552WR will replace the Navy's obsolete Wavetek 859 models. The GP1552WR - a stand-alone, rack-mounted GPIB instrument - is 100% compatible with the Wavetek 859 for form, fit and function including the GPIB command set.
"With obsolete parts and escalating maintenance and repair costs of the Wavetek 859, the GP1552WR is the perfect replacement," says Lynn Murdock, Geotest vice president of sales and marketing. Geotest's pulse generators will first be used in the AN/USM 484 testers at the Navy Depot in San Diego, CA, and eventually at other Navy bases across the country.
"Our investment and collaboration with the Navy to provide a cost-effective solution for obsolete pulse generators has paid off," says Loofie Gutterman, Geotest president. "We are pleased to assist the Navy with this crucial product and plan to expand the product offering to include additional obsolete pulse and arbitrary waveform generators."
Geotest also provides replacement pulse generators for Tektronix PG5110 and Hewlett Packard 8160A models and arbitrary waveform generators for Tektronix AWG5110 and Wavetek 175.
Availability: Product shipment for the GP1552WR is scheduled for Q4 2002.
