Geotest Adds Suport for Linux and LabVIEWTM Real-Time Software Environments
February 17, 2011; Irvine, CA - Geotest has announced the release of a new software driver package, GtLinux v1.0 which allows Geotest’s PXI instruments to operate under the Linux operating system. The initial release includes support for Geotest’s DC source instruments (GX1642/8), the GTX2200 counter / timer family, the GX3500 Flex DIO FPGA card, and static digital I/O cards(GX5731/2/3 and GX5641/2). In addition, a new update to Geotest’s instrument driver libraries now supports Geotest’s PXI instruments under the National Instruments LabVIEW RT software environment.
“With the release of GtLinux and updates to our other instrument driver libraries, customers with very specialized needs or applications now have the ability to take advantage of Geotest’s instrument product line for non-Windows based applications,” said Ron Yazma , Geotest’s VP of software engineering. “Our customer base has an increasingly diverse set of requirements and our development of Linux instrument drivers is one way we are responding to specific customer needs.”
Geotest’s GtLinux driver package supports both 32 and 64 bit Linux operating systems and is compatible with the Linux kernel 2.6 or higher. Support for LabVIEW RT is now included with Geotest’s standard driver libraries.
