Geotest Wins Contracts To Build Test Systems for Fighter Planes
Irvine, CA (August 21, 2002) - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for military, aerospace, semiconductors, telecom, medical, and industrial applications was awarded contracts totaling over $2 million to provide test systems for the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Falcon fighters.
The F-15 contract is for Organizational-Level (O-Level) testers that are used at the flight-line to verify the fighter’s armament systems. The hand-held testers simulate weapons and enable users to perform pre-mission verification of the operational status of all armament systems. The F-15 is an all-weather tactical fighter equipped with a wide array of electronic warfare systems.
The F-16 contract is for a TS-2000 and several Test Program Sets (TPSs) for the F-16’s Stores Management System (SMS). The TS-2000, deployed since 1995, is an Intermediate-Level (I-Level) and Depot-Level test set for the F-16, AH-1, and AH-64 aircrafts. A comprehensive mixed-signal test set, the TS-2000 supports both analog platforms like the AH-1 and the AH-64 and sophisticated digital platforms like the F-16 Falcon. The F-16 Fighting Falcon is the world’s most popular multi-role fighter with a sophisticated Stores (weapon) Management System. The TS-2000 enables users to test, troubleshoot, and repair any SMS Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), thus reducing inventory levels and maintenance costs while increasing mission readiness.
