Geotest Releases PXI ROM Emulator
Santa Ana, CA. (February 27, 2001) - Geotest - MTS, a Marvin Group company, today announced the introduction of NX5000, Sophisticated PXI ROM Emulator.
ROM emulation has emerged as the choice for microprocessor test and diagnostic applications. It uses a high level language that enables the user to focus on development of the test procedure. This allows rapid transition from one test program development to another with minimum learning curve.
With Geotest's new NX5000 ROM Emulator, microprocessor-based boards are tested by replacing the boot ROMs on the Unit Under Test (UUT) with memory emulation pods. Each pod handles 8 bits of the data bus. Processors from 8 to 32 bits can be controlled with 1 to 4 pods (even the most advanced CPUs such as the Intel Pentium generally use only an 8-bit boot path).
NX5000 takes control of the UUT by re-setting the processor and exercises all functions on the board under the test monitor program's control. Synchronization with the UUT is automatic and requires no additional hardware or connections. The NX5000 is supplied with drivers for ATEasy and DLLs for LabVIEW, LabWindowsCVI, C, C++, and Visual Basic.
Availability: Product shipment for the NX5000 is scheduled for March, 2001. The price for the product starts at $12750.
