Geotest Wins TOW Launcher Tester Bid
IRVINE, Calif. (April 25, 2003) - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for aerospace, semiconductor, telecom, medical, industrial and military applications today announced that it has received a contract for the TS-376 Electro-Optical Test Set (EOTS), for use with the Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided Missile (TOW) Day Sight.
The TS-376 is a PXI-based, depot-level electro-optical tester. The tester includes PXI instruments for measurement, stimuli, digital, switching, and power, as well as an optical bench with visible and infrared light sources and target simulators.
Geotest's TS-376 tester is used to test, troubleshoot and repair TOW Day Sights. Day Sights serve a telescopic function for the armed forces, allowing them to detect, recognize, and engage threats under obscured battlefield conditions during daylight battle, while stationary or on the move.
The TOW is a crew-portable, vehicle-mounted, heavy anti-armor weapon system, primarily used in anti-tank warfare, with a maximum range of more than 3,000 meters (2 miles).
Availability: Product shipment for the TS-376 is scheduled for January 2004.
