Geotest Unveils New PXI Product Line
WESCON, Anaheim, CA. (September 19, 2000) - Geotest - MTS, a Marvin Group company, today announced the introduction of broad PXI product line that includes a PXI instrument chassis, high-speed digital I/O products, a ROM Emulator, and switching cards.
"With the coming-of-age of the 6U PXI form factor, PXI is becoming a standard platform for test applications," said Loofie Gutterman, Geotest's Chief Operating Officer, "The 3U PXI form factor had a limited use in Automatic Test Applications due to the complexity and size of the instruments. The 6U form factor however provides the necessary 'real-estate' required to support high-end test applications and successfully compete with VXI and GPIB instrumentation."
The new PXI product line include the following products: - A 20 Slot, 6U PXI Chassis that supports embedded controllers and MXI-3 interface.
- A PXI high-speed digital I/O board with test rates up to 100MHz, memory depth up to 128Mbit per I/O pin, multiple I/O level options, and program sequencer.
- A PXI low-cost, high-speed I/O stream board with test rates up to 100MHz, memory depth up to 512Mbit per I/O pin and multiple I/O level options.
- A PXI ROM Emulator for Microprocessor testing and diagnostic applications with support for numerous mProcessor families.
- A family of PXI high-density switching cards that includes a 128 channel scanner/multiplexer with multiple busses.
The PXI product family introduced by Geotest was developed as a result of a growing demand for low-cost, high-performance alternatives to VXI and rack instrumentation.
Additional PXI products are scheduled for introduction during Q4 2000 and Q1 2001.
Availability: Product shipment for all PXI products is scheduled for Q4 2000.
